Carry out a project that you are passionate about

Extended Project

All ag6 students are encouraged to get involved in our Extended Project Qualification. This can be on any subject of a student’s interest. It can take any format from a written project to a performance or piece of artwork and encourages independent learning. Universities particularly value this qualification.

Tomorrow's Teachers

The aim of this unique programme is to offer those of you who might be considering a career in teaching, either at primary or secondary school level, the opportunity to gain first hand experience of what skills are needed to be a teacher.

The programme is based at ag6 where you will be assigned a class in the main school, or one of the local primary schools, in a subject area that you wish to teach.
Tomorrow’s Teachers is about children, how they learn and how we can support them to realise their full potential.

You will gain experience in the following areas:

  • Learning and Teaching: The tools of the trade.
  • What do we look for when observing lessons?
  • Creating an environment where working relationships are built on high expectations.
  • Specific strategies that teachers use to promote positive behaviour within their classrooms and beyond.
